Institut français joins FURIES festival, the PALC (Nationale Pole dedicated to Circus Arts), CNAC (national Center for Circus Arts) and Grand-Est Region to propose a FOCUS on Circus and Street Arts. From June 9 to 11, this event will bring together more than 40 international professionals from 31 countries on 4 continents.
The proposed program highlights companies whose works are accessible to a foreign audience. This FOCUS proposes diverse aesthetics and repertoires that appeal to new audiences.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover 7 circus shows and 10 shows in the public space. Simultaneous translation from French to English will be offered to international professionals. The festival director, Jean-Marie Songy, wanted to present text-based shows that revive street theater. The latter will also have the opportunity to discover the CNAC (National Center for Circus Arts) which offers a training of international renown and to meet regional artists who will present their projects in the form of a half-day tour. Finally, meetings in continent format will be organized to allow professionals to exchange in small formats on common issues and projects.
