Project support
La Fabrique Cinéma
Conceived in close collaboration with the Cannes Film Festival and its Marché du Film, La Fabrique Cinéma de l'Institut français selects each year ten 1st or 2nd feature film projects to present and introduce them in a privileged way to the industry and its decision-makers during the Cannes Film Festival.
Please note that applications will close on receipt of 110 eligible projects and no later than Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Closing is effective as soon as the numerus clausus of 110 eligible projects is reached.
PERSONALISED SUPPORT
Thanks to this program, young directors and their producers benefit from support tailored to their project and level of professional experience. From the moment they are selected in March, they are advised by a personal coach, who helps them identify their needs (rewriting, co-production, distribution, target territories, etc.) and draw up a program of targeted meetings with professionals likely to co-finance their project.
BE ACTIVE IN THE INDUSTRY AND DEVELOP A PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
Winners of the program receive pitch training with an expert, attend presentations by professionals on production and market-related topics, and meet professionals from key sectors of the international film industry.
PARTNERSHIPS WITH FESTIVALS, LABS AND RESIDENCES
For several years now, the Fabrique Cinéma of the Institut français has been committed to supporting projects that are being written or developed through partnerships. Particular attention is paid to French-language projects from the African continent.
EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL AND IN THE FILM INDUSTRY
During working sessions, young directors can discuss their projects with the operation's sponsor, an internationally recognized filmmaker.
They enjoy privileged access to Cannes selections (Official Selection, Semaine de la Critique, Quinzaine des Cinéastes, ACID, Festival Résidence) and major professional events, and take part in Marché du Film programs (Producers Network, Spot the Composer...). Finally, they have the opportunity to meet the French and international press.
The program's prizewinners are supported by a team of experts who identify the meetings required for each project and advise the teams.
