The 2019 France-Romania Season

  • France
  • Roumanie
From 1 January 2019 to 14 July 2019
This season invites us to forget our stereotypes by re-setting the images and ideas that France and Romania have of each other, in order to strengthen the economic, scientific and cultural links that have historically united us thanks in particular to the Francophone world, and to reaffirm our commitment to a Europe of peace, ideas and cooperation.

Opened on 27th November at the Pompidou Centre by Presidents Macron and Iohannis as part of the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the creation of modern Romania, the France-Romania Season coincides with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2019.

It takes place in France through 15th April 2019 and then in Romania from 18th April to 14th July 2019.

  • General Commissioners: Jean-Jacques Garnier and Andrei Tarnea

The France-Romania Season is supported by the sponsors committee chaired by Frédéric Oudéa, Chief Executive Officer of the Société Générale Group, which brings together 12 French companies: Groupama, the Renault Group, Mazars, Veolia, Orange, the Michelin corporate foundation, Carrefour, Engie, CCIFER, Sano and Faurecia.

It contributes to the financing of the Season and offers an opportunity for these businesses to better understand Romania.
