The Institut français programmes and projects
European Film Festival, a programme that supports EU delegations in organising European film festivals around the world, is offering them the opportunity to participate in a European online festival from 5 May to 5 June 2021.
The 17th Venice International Biennale of Architecture is taking place from 22 May to 21 November 2021. On the occasion of its opening, the Institut français invites you to find out more about the French Pavilion’s curator, the architect Christophe Hutin, and his project Les communautés à l’œuvre (Communities at work), as well as other people involved with and projects related to the world of architecture.
For more than 20 years, Christophe Hutin has been critically reflecting on city construction and its rationale for exclusion. His wish is to help residents regain control of their built environment to better find their place in the city. The architect will represent France at the 17th Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2021, placed by Hashim Sarkis under the theme of "How are we going to live together? ”.
The European project developed by the Institut français in partnership with ARTE Education and European Schoolnet, European Film Factory is aimed at teachers and students aged 11 to 18 and is expanding its catalogue of films with two new short film programmes.
The distribution of Culturethèque in Switzerland is part of partnerships with the educational authorities of the German- and Italian-speaking cantons in order to support the teaching and learning of the French language.
